Girls Get It Done - Mar 7, 2023

Today we kicked off the day with a nice small win - we installed two more of the lights - simple replacements. Then we were out of the shrink sheathing that fit, so we had to go out before continuing.

We needed to start looking for space for Michael today - the apartment lease is up at the end of March, and we would like to get him closer to here - preferably with just an office vs a whole apartment. So, Bean and I took to the road and started searching the local small towns for rental signs, empty office space, etc. After not finding much, and finding out the local apartments have a waiting list - we decided to grab groceries and go back to the boat and try some google-fu.

Once back, and after a lovely lunch (burgers on the grill), I started searching for offices, apartments, and rooms for rent. I found a couple options, made a couple calls, and followed up with the manager here at the marina about the office space in the building. The manager won't have an answer for me until at least Friday when he can talk to the owner, but there is another option in Galveston that sounds good. Just a simple small office in a shared space with a desk, wifi, and utilities included for about 25% of what we are paying on the apartment. It would mean a 25 minute commute every day (that I would have to drive him since I will need the car), so we will wait for the marina option first, and then follow up on that if it is a no go. Fingers crossed, no commute would be much preferred!

After that, I decided to at least take a look at my battery space, so I pulled out my practice foam and cut it to the width of the batteries - it is not the full length, but at least it gives me an idea of where it hits on the hull and what we will need to do to make it level. There will definitely need to be some wires re-routed to make it all fit, but in general, I think it will be ok.

Then I pulled out the manual for the Inverter/Charger and started reading through that to make sure I understand the installation and operation. It actually seems pretty simple and straightforward for that piece....

Next up - try to understand the wiring diagram in my own head - what connects to what. I started drawing it out, but I think I confused myself a little. So, for tonight, I will rest, and pick it up again tomorrow when I am fresh. Hopefully, I can put all the pieces together, get confirmation, and get on my way.
