It is really hard to get motivated in the morning when it is below 60 degrees in the cabin...
But eventually, we did get started :-)
I heard the water pump going off again, and after verifying that my fixes from yesterday were not leaking, I decided to trace the rest of the line and see I could find another leak. Of course, the main part is under my berth, which had ALL of the tools and items from the lazarette on it...
So, we rearranged again, and I get my cabin back for at least a few days! Yay! Anyway, back to the point, I quickly identified the leak at the T coming from the pump and going to the two sinks. This had been done before we had a good supply of hose clamps, so it only had one on each connection. I quickly removed it (I just cut the line since we had enough hose to spare instead of fighting with pulling it off the barbed T), and then added some new hose clamps, reconnected everything, and tightened all the clamps. Walla, leak gone - the pump has not gone off since! I finally felt confident doing a fix, no doubts, no uncertainty about what I was doing, it felt good. Now I just need to build that confidence on the other areas of the boat.
Then we connected with Tommy - he had to work today, so we had to wait until he got off work at 4 - only to find out he had plans tonight so the full fuel transaction was a no-go - but he was nice enough to at least take the cans we had full and put them into his tank, so now tomorrow morning we can refill them and get them back to his boat when he returns/wakes up. While we wait for him, I plan to start the process to allow the boards to be removed - disconnecting the fuel fill and the fuel vent/return connections. Then I'll cut out the back of those holes so the boards can be removed in the future without disconnecting everything.
So, tonight we relaxed and watched a bit more Hell's Kitchen, and enjoyed a dinner that he would probably have called a regurgitated dog's dinner ;-) but we enjoyed it, and we had a good time. Here's to more progress tomorrow!
