Girls Get It Done - Apr 27, 2023

We are so close - I'm really hoping we can start the engine this weekend! Today, I rearranged all the tools (and the place looked like a tornado hit it for awhile) so I could get to the starter battery and install the fuse terminal. Once I got in there though, I realized the starter battery was a flooded lead acid, and it was only a group 24, but the battery box could fit a group 27, and we were planning to upgrade to AGM - soooo, I decided to go do that first, before connecting more stuff to it.

Off to O'Reilly's I went, and stopped by Target to pick up some more waterproof containers to help me organize the mess I pulled out of my berth, and then back to the boat - easy peasy :-)

Once back, I dropped the new battery in, connected the new fuse block and put it all back together. Then I wired up the fuel pump and it was time for the big test - will it work....

It did! Yay!! With that, we are calling it a day and relaxing - we got a bit of a late start today waiting for the rain to end, and we still have to put all the tools away and remove the tornado debris from the salon, but today was definitely a success :-)

Tomorrow we will drain a little from the tank to see how it is looking, and then hopefully connect all the fuel hoses before going to pick up Michael.

Saturday we'll drill the hole for the fuel vent and get that connected, and then hopefully, fingers crossed, start the engine....
