Today I decided to start with replacing those inverter screws - if you remember, the original ones were too long and came all the way through the wood, leaving a nice place to scratch your leg or ruin a cushion ;-)
Of course, I had not bought the correct screws.... I bought round head, and it needed to be tapered flat head - I've learned so much since I originally bought those! So, off to the store I went to get some better screws. I wasn't able to find the tapered flat head in the stainless steel in the correct size - but I found tapered oval head, which should do just fine.
Once back at the boat, I replaced the three screws holding up the 'rail', and then with Bean's help, we were able to lock it on there and put the bolts through the bottom holes (after I drilled them out of course), added a washer and a nylock nut and we got that little project off our list.
After that, I decided to start tackling some of the fuel items - I am waiting for parts for a lot of it - but I could at least start dry fitting and figuring out where things will go, and determine if there are any other parts that I have forgotten I need.
I started with the fuel feed, but quickly decided to wait until I have the switch for the fuel pump so I can get a better idea of how all that fits together (that should be here tomorrow).
I decided to switch to the fuel venting. As I mentioned yesterday, we have a marked place for it now (we haven't cut the hole yet), so I started mocking up the fuel hose and where the LG100 will go. I also realized that the Tee with the fuel return and fuel vent could be cleaned and re-installed so I got busy doing that. I had to take the existing barb and coupler off and put the new one on (3/8" to 5/8"), and then thread the hole assembly into the pipe coming off the tank. I also realized I need to buy a bracket for the LG100, and 5/8" hose clamps - so that will be my errands for tomorrow!
Since it was still a little early, I decided to tackle the light at the nav station before calling it a day. Thankfully, that went quick and easy, only complication was finding the correct angle to be able to put the screws in (laying on my back across the desk if you are curious!).
Now time to relax and watch some Hell's Kitchen with Bean :-)
