Saturday night we decided to go to the apartment instead of the boat so I could do laundry, shower, and use the air conditioning (apparently they had a VERY hot week while I was gone). We will have to revisit that discussion and decide what to do - we all think it will be ok at anchor with a few wind scoops, but as long as we are in a marina it is getting a bit toasty...
Sunday we did the usual relax and prepare for Michael to work on Monday, ate pizza, watched tv, good way to come back from a vacation :-)
Monday ended up being a lot more admin than originally thought, but it is all handled now. Bean and I made it back to the boat around 16:30 so we just unpacked and then relaxed in the cockpit together. Our neighbor Scott has not left yet on his trip, so we sat and chatted with him for a bit. He is leaving for the Florida Keys soon - he was originally supposed to leave last week, but he keeps finding little projects that he wants to wrap up before leaving. He already tried the trip once, but weather and things breaking caused him to turn around - so this time he is trying to be as prepared as he can!
Today, we were going to start the kiwi grip - but upon opening the box, I realized we need a roller handle - it comes with the roller, just not the handle for it - so I guess errands are in my future today!
I also need to take a look at the water pump again. We turned it on briefly last night and as soon as we flipped the breaker, the pump came on, and stayed on, even with no water running on the boat - so something is definitely funky there. That will probably end up being my major project for the day. With the heat, we need to start working early, and then siesta in the afternoon ;-)
While I was gone, Michael and Bean got the mast step area all sanded and painted, doesn't it look beautiful! They also got the coolant bottle installed (minus some hose clamps coming this week).
And a beautiful surprise for me - Bean made me two new necklaces, they are gorgeous :-)
Off to work!
