So I asked the family if I could stay on the boat alone this week. I wanted the chance to get some work done, and just enjoy some last bonding with the boat. Sometimes it is nice to just work on your own schedule and at your own pace, and only be worried about what you want to do :-)
So far, it has been a good week. I'm at the halfway point, I've gotten some work done, but not gone crazy. It started a little disappointing - I was hoping to work on my main breaker, but I started looking at it Monday afternoon and the breakers I bought were the wrong ones - again - so I had to order some new ones. The ones I bought were toggle switches, but the face place was 1.5", and the breaker panel only fits 1.25"... so I ordered some flat rocker switches (which is what the main breaker it comes with is), so crossing my fingers and hoping that will be a win for next week (if we aren't picking up a mast).
Since that was a no-go, I switched it up and did a bit of other work. I got the rest of the trim in the head re-installed, painted the wood we installed for a floor under the head (that is drying right now, re-installation of head tomorrow), and started working on organizing things and moving a few things to storage.
Aside from that, I started working on my nav station outlet. I figured out the best place to put it, marked it off, and used a combination of drill holes and small saws to create the hole I needed - it was pretty satisfying when I finished :-)
I put the box in, and attached the outlet and cover to it - just because I wanted to see it! It isn't wired yet - I need the main breaker panel for that first - but at least it is in place and I have a visual - wiring the outlet itself is pretty straightforward, so once I get the wire run from the main back to here, it should be easy.
I also un-mounted the inverter, just have to re-box it and move that and the batteries to storage and we'll have a bit more room - I'll wait until next week for that. Getting heavy things on and off the boat is easier with two people since we don't have a gate in the lifelines (we just climb over them).
The rest of the week will be wrapping up the things I have started (like re-installing the toilet), and getting the place ready for two people again - I have made it a just a tiny bit messy with all my tools... I didn't want to have to climb into the lazarette every day for the tools, and I was often switching between projects depending on what I had available (and while waiting for paint to dry), so I just brought all the tools I thought I would need down below. Which of course makes the place look like a train wreck - gotta clean that up before I bring Bean back here :-)
One of my new breakers might arrive tomorrow - if so, I may start playing with the main breaker again - just because - I think I have a good understanding of how it all fits together, but I want to work on it physically instead of just in my head looking at wiring diagrams. Fingers crossed and wish me luck, off to bed so I get a good night's sleep!
