So obviously there has been a bit going on and I have not taken the time to sit down and write!
I am still on the hunt for a job, I try to look for and apply for at least three a week. I have had interviews with two companies, I think one is interested and is working on budget, the other has ghosted me, so I assume that is over. Hoping to get more interviews or an offer soon.
In the meantime, Bean and I took a girls' trip to Carlsbad, NM - it was a place I wanted to go before we left New Mexico, but time just didn't allow it, so I always planned to go back. It was well worth the trip. The caverns are amazing, the nature trails around them are beautiful, and the museum was really neat. If you get the chance, definitely make the trip. You can see some of the highlights here:
Aside from that, I have started working with my friends in electrical again. We just started a new install on a 50' monohull sailing vessel. It is a beautiful boat and looks mostly well maintained. I'll be doing that until I find more full time work. It has made me realize how out of shape I got over the holidays though ;-) Lifting batteries and multi plus inverter/charger units and making multiple trips to the van definitely gave me a workout! I really enjoy working with Dani though, and she is so patient when I ask questions. I will definitely enjoy this last project with her.
In other news, we -may- have an upgraded boat soon...
We found a boat in Florida that looks decent and is in our price range. Michael was able to do a virtual tour with the broker while Bean and I were in NM and he liked what he saw, so we made an offer on it. Bean and I are flying out on Friday to see it in person and get a survey done. If all goes well, we may be figuring out how to get it home sometime in February, so keep your fingers crossed for us! It is a Dean 440 Catamaran named Improbability, so the name alone seems perfect ;-p
Wish us luck in all these adventures, and stay Derpy friends!
